The '200 Club' was going from strength to strength with us holding our presentation night in The Harp Bar in Tempe. The Harp Bar came on board for 2006 and provoded us with some much needed sponsorship to facilitate the running of the club. Young Irelands again won the annual 10 a-side competition which was again ran over a number of weekends in February at Wentworth Park down by the cities Fish Markets. In March we again travelled up state for the annual Central Coast-San Remo blitz. Unfortunately we didn't make it beyond the group stages due to our points scored tally not being enough to carry us through. The day was a great success however with us playing some graet football and it could be seen by everyone at the blitz that we were going to be a force to be reckoned with in 2006. Our league campaign was again stopped short with us being beaten in the semi finals. However we dusted ourselves off and took off to the snow. In July 40 of us headed down south to the Snowy mountains for a bit of off piste action. The weekend was a great success with a strong team bond being forged over excess jagerbombs and lack of skiing competency. Brian Deane even travelled down despite the fact that he was injured and had to watch it all from the window of the bar. What a great clubman. September saw us win back to back championships beating Clan Na Gael 2-08 to 1-07. It was a great game of football played in strange conditions. There was a gale force wind blowing across the pitch for most of the game but the temperature was somewhere in the late 20's. Best and Fairest on the day went to John McGuckian (Antrim) who played on despite breaking his wrist in the first half.
